Nicholas is a member of The International Sports Science Association, where he was a Corrective Exercise Specialist. With Nicholas' professional background in pain medicine, rehabilitation, and an excellent track record of customer satisfaction, he has a partnership with Four Seasons HotelThe Center For Preventative Medicine, and several Doctors. 

Nicholas has done over 3,500 assessments. With that in mind, he has seen many health problems go away with the help of weight training, stretching, and consistency. Nicholas' dynamic approach, boundless energy, and positive attitude add to his client's experience's effectiveness.

 With a client list as diverse as his training methods, Nicholas emphasizes strength training modalities that can be transferred from the gym to daily life, from training camp to championship game.

poulin Philosophy Step Two - Assessment

During each 3-6 one-hour assessment, Nicholas will determine your body's current ability, with one measuring your output and another recording the data, in order to maintain the critical window of time needed to obtain accurate information. Nicholas measures your: 

✔ Cardiorespiratory - A cardiorespiratory assessment shows how efficiently your cardiorespiratory system functions, which is an indicator of your overall level of fitness.

✔ Muscle strength - This test helps us identify muscle weaknesses and imbalances.

✔ Muscle flexibility - Flexibility is the degree to which a muscle will lengthen or stretch. Short, tight muscles are painful and contribute to a higher risk of injury.

✔ Muscle memory - Muscle memory helps you rebuild strength more quickly after a lapse in training.

✔ Tendon strength - Tendon strength helps prevent injuries. It also increases strength.

✔ Balance - Balance is vital to all movement. It is an essential component of all types of training.

✔ Range of motion - Range of motion is a key component of healthy joint functioning. A good range of motion can help reduce pain, keep joints healthy, and improve your balance and strength.

✔ Body fat composition - A higher body fat percentage greatly increases your risk

of death from cardiovascular problems and more. 

Poulin Philosophy Step Three - Program

  • Using your assessment data, Nicholas Poulin will personally build a bespoke program based on your goals, genetic aptitude, and fitness level.

  • With a combination of free weight, body weight, and machine-driven exercises, your routines are specifically designed for you, and only you.

  • All workout sessions begin and end with stretches designed to optimize performance and minimize risks.

  • After a period of training with us, we revisit your original data and perform an analysis of your new numbers with two additional one-hour tests.

  • Your routines are adjusted to prevent plateauing and to bridge any gaps that are performing below average.

  • After discussing data points generated from your reassessment, we decide if you are ready for new goals to bring you to the next level or to stay the course on your original plan of action.

  • Slight modifications can be made to fine-tune your routines if you are looking to maintain a certain degree of fitness. Or a complete overhaul can be designed to break through any plateau.
